Facilities

The main hall is 15.5 m x 9.5 m and is accessed from the bar area with two sets of double glass doors. There is a fully sized stage at the head of the hall dressed with curtains. The hall is big enough to accommodate a full-sized badminton court.

The hall is very popular for wedding receptions, anniversary parties, children’s parties and adult birthday parties (at the moment, due to licensing restrictions, we do not cater for birthday parties for those aged between 14 and 21 inclusive). It will comfortably seat 120 people for a sit down meal, but could accommodate more (see Capacity page). The hall has subdued wall lighting suitable for social functions and bright overhead LED strip lighting if required.

We have tables and chairs to seat 120+ people. The chairs are are comfortably padded with blue material blending with the full length curtains which matches almost any colour combination you may wish to use for your function .The bar area measures an area of 7 m x 5 m. Lounge chairs are placed around this area for a more informal social setting.

We have a fully staffed licensed bar which can be opened at your request for £10 per hour subject to licensing restrictions – please indicate if this is required when you make your booking. We are licensed from 12:00 until 24:00 Friday and Saturday, and from 12:00 to 23:00 Sunday to Thursday. We need a minimum of 7 days notice if you require the bar. Please note that alcohol is not permitted in the hall except when the bar is opened and you cannot bring your own alcoholic drinks. When the bar is open, please purchase your non-alcoholic drinks at the bar.

The kitchen is 5 m x 4 m with two sinks, fridge, newly fitted cooker, microwave oven and freezer and has large working areas. There is a large hatch with metal roller-shutter of 3 m x 1.2 m that opens up onto the hall/bar area for serving of food.

Please note that the cooker is a recent standard domestic range cooker with ceramic top. We do not provide cooking utensils or pans or cooking trays.

There are male and female toilets off the main corridor plus a disabled toilet.

We will allow a bouncy castle for childrens parties and recommend that a local supplier with experience of Dorridge Village Hall is used and that a hirer should check the insurance cover of the supplier. The suppliers instructions must be followed and the hirer is always responsible for the health and safety of the attendees at their event.

On a hot summers day, the five sets of double doors can be opened to give access to the grounds and fresh air. There is space beside the hall for a marquee on the grass.

There is a fully curtained stage which is 7m wide x 5m deep which is licensed for public entertainment. The Hall can accommodate 150 people seated in rows.

There is some stage lighting and a projection screen available. The hall sound system can be used via a Bluetooth connection with prior arrangement. There is access from behind the stage to a kitchenette , further toilets and the Meeting Room which can be used as a dressing room.

The Meeting Room measures 5.6 m x 6.9 m and will accommodate (under normal conditions) up to: 20 people boardroom-style around central tables, 36 people when grouped around up to six separate tables, or 50 people, conference-style in rows.

There is a large wall mounted TV screen with HDMI input available for presentations via a laptop.

This space can be used for committee meetings, smaller groups, such as classes, lectures, crafts or other activities that need less space than the main hall. There is a tea-making point (kettle and sink) in an adjoining room, and there are also toilet facilities available within the same block (separate from those for the main hall).

There is a large car park right outside the Hall with provision for about 40 cars.
